The Salzburger "Sonnenterrasse" entices you to get close to nature and acquaint yourself with, understand and eqperience its laws (once again). The most direct way to come into contact with nature and the countryside is whilst walking. Walking is, therefore, is the number one theme in the region.

Healthy tranquility

Special healthy climate. Even at the time of the Emperor ,the healing effects of the St. Veit climate were recognised and a lung sanatorium was built. Today ancient traditions are revived in this healthy climatic spa resort and new methods of relaxation and regeneration introduced.

Those seeking relaxation will often find "oases of tranquility" on walks through the natural countryside, devoted to various themes such as "air", "water", "healthy climate". You'll even find sun loungers on the peak with unforgettable views of the Hohe Tauern, relaxing benches under a roof of green leaves and outdoor Kneipp cure water-treading courses.

On the "Barefoot Path“, the sense of feeling in your feet will be rediscovered and your body revived by the massaging of foot reflex zones. The eternal tranquility, the clearness of the air in the healthy climate, the green of the countryside and the majestic mountains have an impact on the relaxation-seeker and have a lasting effect on him.

Lama trekking

They're definitely a strange sight - the lamas, which have found their new home on the Salzburger Sonnenterrasse. Lama trekking counts amongst the very special experiences. You accompany the loaded animal through the scenic countryside of the Salzburger Sonnenterrasse whilst experiencing the interesting character traits of this "exotic" animal.

Lama trekking takes place from May to October every 2nd Wednesday and lasts approx. 3 hours (shorter trips also possible).

The healthy climatic resort of St. Veit lies in a clearly definable area, which benefits from an excellent healthy climate. This zone stretches from the mid-mountain terrace to an altitude of approx. 1,400 m.

In addition to the traditional inn, where you'll find regional dishes, very special gourmet addresses beckon e.g. "Seehof“ (2 chef's hats from gourmet guide "Gault Millau“) or "Sonnhof“ and Gasthof "Zum Bierführer“ (both 1 chef's hat from "Gault Millau“). With pleasure these kitchens make use of produce from our organic farmers, where quality tastes even better.
