Tourentipps
Paarseen Lakes | | A high plateau with alpine pastures and huts ("Schernbergalm“, "Hasseckalm“) and lakes with salamanders, fish, amphibians, frogs and all sorts of little creatures. The whole area of this charming mountain world is a nature conservation area. The remarkable aspect of such a walk or mountain tour is the opportunity of staying overnight in the barn of the "Schernbergalm“. |
Around the Gamskögerl | | At the Seekarl, the highest point on the Meislstein, the Hunter's Chapel has stood for many years. From here you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Hohe Tauern and the Hochkönig range, giving the chapel is scenic backdrop. After the gentle circular walk via Weng / Hochploin or the more demanding peak hike over Schneeberg and Gamskögerl you can stop for refreshment when heading downwards at the "Meislsteinalm“ or the "Hackeralm“. |
Hochegg and Gamskögerl | | On this fabulous high alpine walk you will find plenty to cure your aches and pains: kidney vetch, eyebright, mint, meadow bistort, orange hawkweed, tormentil, devil's bit etc. A wonderul flowery walk. And should you be tired from walking and looking so much, you can enjoy a break in the "tötzelbergalm“. |
Schneeberg | | You don't always have to conquer a 3,000 m high peak to have the world at your feet - you can also experience this feeling on the Schneeberg - surrounded by the icy giants of the Hoh Tauern and the northern limestone Alps. Its literal name, snow mountain, is very apt as when its neighbouring peaks start to turn green, it is still proudly white. |
Hochglocker | | Hike around the Hochglocker along wide forest tracks and forest paths - definitely not a "sandal" tour, but certainly very worthwhile. The magnificent view alone is worth the climb up. In addition, this is the only mountain peak in Austria where a sun lounger is waiting for you. Under the motto "reviving old traditions" we would like to remind you that even at the time of the Emperor the beneficial healing power of cures in St. Veit's healthy climate were recognised. |
