31 stages. 350 kilometres. 120 huts and alps. The Salzburger Almenweg leads through the entire province and lives up to its name. The three Sun Terrace communities of St. Veit, Schwarzach and Goldegg are among the 25 hiking villages. Oases of tranquillity path to the Hochglocker
Take a deep breath and enjoy: Hike from the Kinderalm parking facility in St. Veit to the summit on a forest path at moderate incline. Cool forests and numerous oases of tranquillity accompany this tour above the clouds. With a brief detour of half an hour you can even reach the splendid Pronebenalm with ease.
Gamskögerl round tour
One of the best views of the entire holiday region isn’t far away: Let yourself be enchanted by the stunning Hohe Tauern panorama at the Hirtenkapelle chapel on the Seekarl. Hiking in SalzburgerLand around Viehlehen on 1,150 m provides lots of scenic experiences over two hours.

Thomas-Bernhard round tour
Thomas Bernhard’s life story is closely connected with St. Veit im Pongau. He visited the place for health reasons in his youth and in later life spent his holidays here. A round tour leads to the most important stages of his time in St. Veit in approx. one literary hour. The Seelackenmuseum serves as both the starting point and destination. Four museum rooms are dedicated to Bernhard.
